Every feature, inside and outside, at Sunset Pines Resort was designed to accommodate the disabled. Yet can still be enjoyed and used by anyone. The outside area at Sunset Pines Resort has hard graveled roads and trails to be enjoyed by walking, driving or wheelchairs and scooters. Outside each cabin there is a fire ring with supplied firewood, a gas BBQ grill and a picnic table.

Sunset Pines Resort sports a private 4.5 acre lake stocked with largemouth and smallmouth Bass, Walleye and huge hybrid Bluegills. Fishing is free and no state licenses are required. We do ask that fishing is catch and release.  All area’s of the lake are accessible by shore, peninsula, bridge or a spacious fishing pier near the deepest waters. The lake also has a large beach and swimming area. Along one side of the beach is a specially designed cement ramp that allows wheelchairs easy access to the water.

Because the area is so beautiful there are nature trails through the 40 acre forest of Sunset Pines Resort to allow further access into the wilderness.  The trails are hard graveled surface and fairly accommodating to wheelchairs.

For all your party needs, Sunset Pines Resort has a 32 x 64 shelter located near the beach and playground area. Constructed in 2009, this facility has a 32 x 40 open shelter area with roll-up garage doors on all sides that can be closed in the event of bad weather. Plenty of lighting, electrical outlets, tables and chairs. Adjacent to this is a 32 x 16 enclosed area for food prep or serving with a walk-in cooler, commercial kitchen sink, stainless work table and ample counter space. There are enough electrical outlets for roasters, coffee pots and anything else needed to feed an army. On the back side of this shelter there are men’s and women’s bathrooms and a two stall coin operated shower.

This shelter is available to rent for weddings, reunions, graduations, company picnics, club fund-raiser or any other events where you would need a shelter in a beautiful peaceful setting. All amenities are wheelchair accessible and user friendly.

We also offer primative camping complete with electrical hookups near the shelter.  However, we do not have water hookups or a dump station.
